1984年1月22日，苹果还推出了Macintosh计算机，这是该公司历史上最为成功的产品之一。Macintosh的售价为2495美元，是全球第一款支持图形界面，同时价格相对较低计算机。随着Macintosh的推出，图形界面逐步取代了基于文本的系统，最终成为计算机世界的主流。
